Cavescape Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 4, 2026

This policy explains how Gargantua Games (“we”, “us”) handles information when you play Cavescape on Steam or visit joincavescape.com.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not run ads in the game. Voice chat is live audio for the current session. We do not record or store voice chat.

1. Who is responsible

Gargantua Games is the developer of Cavescape and the controller of the information described in this policy. For privacy questions, use the contact details at the bottom.

2. Information we handle

Cavescape is a Steam game. Most account data stays with Steam. We only use what is needed to run multiplayer, voice, and the game itself.

On your device

Online multiplayer

When you host or join an online session, Unity Gaming Services process:

Public lobby names and player counts can be seen by other players browsing public lobbies. Your join code is visible to people in the session, and to anyone you share an invite link with.

Voice chat

Other players can hear what you say. Do not share passwords, payment details, or other private information over voice.

Steam

If you play through Steam, Valve may process your Steam ID, friends list, rich presence (for example that you are hosting and a join code), and gameplay stats we send to Steam (such as souls earned and spent). Steam’s own privacy policy covers Steam accounts, purchases, and the Steam Overlay.

Invite website

Invite links on joincavescape.com only contain a session join code. The site tries to open Cavescape through Steam. The website host (currently Cloudflare) may collect normal web logs such as IP address, browser type, and the page requested. We do not create accounts on that site.

3. Why we use this information

If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or a similar jurisdiction, we rely on performing the game service you asked for, and on our legitimate interest in running a stable multiplayer game. Microphone access is optional and used only for voice chat.

4. Who we share information with

We share information only with the services that run the game:

These companies may process data in the United States and other countries. We do not sell your information and we do not share it for advertising.

Other players in your session can see your display name, hear your voice if you are unmuted, and receive the gameplay data needed to play together.

5. How long we keep it

6. Children

Cavescape is not directed at children under 13. Public lobbies and voice chat are meant for older players. If you are a parent and believe a child under 13 has used these features, contact us and we will help as we reasonably can.

7. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we have, correct it, delete it, or restrict how it is used. We do not collect an email address inside the game, so we may need you to give us enough detail (for example your Steam name and approximate play time) to find any session records that still exist. Steam account requests should go to Steam.

California residents: we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA/CPRA.

8. Security

We use established third-party services (Steam, Unity, Vivox) to carry account, session, and voice data. No online service is completely secure. Anyone with your invite link or join code can try to join that session.

9. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we start recording voice, adding accounts, or collecting new categories of personal information, we will update this policy before those features go live.

10. Contact

For privacy requests about Cavescape, contact Gargantua Games at gargantuaentertainment@gmail.com or through the Cavescape Steam store page.
